So far I bought at least $200.00 in products.

Just want to know if I'm doing anything backwards.

Hi Lisa,

I don't add any warning on my labels for oils staining on clothes. You could add a note if you think it might be a problem. Or you could choose to work with top and middle note plant oils with a faster absorption rate (the unsaturated, polys and monos vs. saturated).

Hope that helps!

Have a great day,

Hi Yolanda,

Great to hear from you. Yes, we are still having fun in NYC!

The Melt and Pour Techniques DVD does not include making MP from scratch. However, to answer your question - I would suggest using citric acid to lower the pH.

Best wishes,

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa and my company, which I just started is called SkinCraft Organics. I make all natural - and mostly organic deodorants & body powders, body butters, body oils, lip balms, facial oils, etc. Right now I am only on Etsy - which went live June 21. So far, in the 2 months I've been open, I can say I'm loving the business & being on Etsy! I did buy my domain name, but am not touching it until after the holiday. For a new business, Etsy is keeping me plenty busy - as being a new business, even a few orders here & there can be a big deal & time consuming - learning how to deal with EVERYTHING out of the gate.

My only question right now - which I'd posted on the main forum (didn't really get a response) was - for products containing ONLY OIL BASED ingredients:  does anyone feel compelled to warn customers of the potential to stain clothing if dressing too soon after application? This is just a property of ALL oils- and a fact of life- if you allow oil to touch clothing, it can stain.

Hello Marla. Yolanda from Dallas here. I'm a neighbor of Amanda's. I understand you guys had a great time creating different types of soaps for the last few days. I was unable to make it but, I have been working on M&P from scratch for about 2 weeks now. Results are good. Still tweaking though. Question...what is the best way to achieve a balanced Ph  in a batch? Should I add the alcohol solution as soon as I get trace or do a cphp and add the solution then? I'm using ethanol. I'm investing in the DVD to add to my library soon. Being self-taught is good but everyone needs a coach/mentor  for guidance. Please pardon the imposition but I'm so close to getting it right.  Thanks in advance.

Hi Marla! Thank you for your greetings! I don't know why I didn't see this email earlier. Yes, I do have a website for Nelum Botanics, my holistic botanical body oils business. Please visit www.nelumbotanics.com
