Enjoy Your Life! Build Your Business! Have Your Way!

Do I like new things? I don't know.

I like presents. Those are new, aren't they? I love the way they arrive all kinda spangly and patterned in their wrap. I love seeing my name on the gift tag. It's great knowing they're from loved ones, brought to me with great thought and care.  Yes, I like presents.

I don't like new cities. I take those in small slices. I like to know where I am. I don't like to wander too far down streets I don't know, always needing to know where the parking garage is in relation to where I'm wandering. New stores with familiar names, yet... different layout inside to what I'm used to at home. Where's the kitchen department... the children's clothes... and the door I came in at. Oh no... what street is this? I don't know where I am.

I like new houses. That's a great bathroom, always wanted a bubble tub. Look at those faucets! The master bedroom is huge! Oh, there's plants already in the gardens. And a fountain that works? Get outta here!

I don't like new electronics. They confound me. I can't be bothered with them. Here Jason, you switch the channel over. Jason, can you record that show I love? Jason, where's HGTV? What number microwaves potatoes, Jason? Can you attach a photo to my email? I need six sheets of labels, Jason. Don't forget the invoices for me, Jason. I need them in the morning.

I like being in business. That was once new. Rather like a present... ooh, this is nice! Then it got hard, having to find my way around areas I'd never been before... not knowing where to find things my business needs. Streets I think I might need to be walking down, only to find it's a dead end. OMG... how did I get here? Deep breath... okay, the gardens are beautiful and the plants are even established. I can relax if I need to in my mental bubble tub... I'm my own boss. Oh, dear Lord... I hate computers, can't work the printer, social media's a maze, and I can't find my way around these pages.

I like new challenges. And I'm gonna hang onto that as I get to grips with my hatred of all things techy. I like making new friends, and I'm gonna hang onto that as I walk down unknown streets my business invariably takes me to. I like designing new rooms, and I'm hanging on to that one for dear life as I look over my own page here on Indie Social, wondering where to start.

I do like learning news things... and I like knowing myself. In knowing myself, I can move mountains. Who cares if that mountain is new, or how big it is. All that matters is... it's gonna be moved.

Reach out. Make friends. Let's lift each other!

Bravo, bravo, bravo!

Susan you so perfectly put things into perspective, into words.

I have reached the new city of no so much fun, where business went from being fun to being fun in business (dM).  I just came to that first stop-sign.  I am in the stage of finding my footing, turning the oh-my-gosh how do I do this now, I've created this, now I need to find my head again corner.  The thing is, these are temporary stops.  I know with each one I will grow and learn, and a new kind of fun will always develop.

You have been the very definition of fearless. I have watched you over the years. Like so many others, me included, you got to the point where business went from being fun to being fun in business. There's a difference, and we have to accept that to grow, we must embrace a different kind of fun.

That takes courage, and it takes relentless insistence and practice.

I requires one to be fearless.

What a super example of that you are!
